Details: SLGi Home Test Kits give you access to our quality analytical services, and is complete with everything needed to sample for asbestos in various materials (such as popcorn ceilings, tiles, insulation, siding, roofing and more). This kit includes sampling tools, instructions, a return label back to our lab, and analysis. Analytical report will be available within your requested turnaround time. Per New York state guidelines all loose fill attic or bulk vermiculite are designated and treated as asbestos containing material. No approved analytical method is allowed and results will state that the sample is considered asbestos containing. Also, New York asbestos regulations state that non-detect or trace results in Non-Friable Organically Bound (NOB) materials (i.e. adhesives, mastics, and floor tiles) are inconclusive since PLM visual estimation is not consistently reliable in detecting asbestos. TEM is currently the only method that can be used to determine if NOB material can be treated as non-asbestos containing. The state of New York requires that such NOB samples are prepped using a process that adds an additional 8 hours to the analysis. Due to this any samples of this type sent in for a same day turnaround time, will be reported by noon EST the following business day.
